Home Instruments Safety Management Road Safety Audit

The analysis is presented as an examination of performance or effectiveness of a road safety during the design phase itself, to the various planning levels (preliminary, final, executive).

The preventive approach, intended to reduce accidents before they happen, putting the concept of road safety in the design phase.

The method considers the security point of view of all categories of users in relation to different places. The safety analysis are carried out by applying the principles of road safety in a multidisciplinary perspective.

Objectives:

  • identify factors of potential danger of the roads project;
  • to suggest (through appropriate recommendations made by a special audit report) measures necessary contain or, preferably, eliminate the identified safety issues;
  • reduce the risk of accidents in the adjacent streets, so as to prevent the new development do migrate to other zones situations of potential danger.

Benefits:

The analysis follows a systematic and formal methodology, very flexible and applicable to any element of the road environment; in fact it can be conducted even in the absence of preliminary data (accidents, traffic, geometric parameters of the track, etc..) although knowledge of such data, however, increases the quality and level of reliability survey results.
